God wrote the Ten Commandments on tablets of stone
They were His rules for His very own
When Moses came down and saw the golden calf, he did mourn
“My Oh My!”, he said with grief in his tone
And in great wrath broke those two tablets of stone!
Moses again moved into God’s holy zone
Wrote the Ten Commandments again with a groan
The people were to follow it with their every fibre and bone
They were not to collect interest on any loan
This made them glad and they did not moan
Even today let’s as His people come humbly before His throne
For God guides our steps through the Ten Commandments that were once written on tablets of stone!
